The first is from an unidentified slab I bought from the rock show (I posted the slab before), the next two came from Beth fernwood . I'm waiting on ID. The third cab is after several fractures and one broken tip from a 3-foot drop on the garage floor. These should all tumble well, I think... Thanks for looking.

Those look great! I like the last one best, so that 3-foot drop must have been a good thing — the patterns and overall shape are very complementary.

Hi, new to the board. MikeT so you cut those with the dremel and THEN tubmle them? Do tumbling not break them up more? Honestly I'm very new to rocks and still trying to figure things out.

Sometimes I drop my slabs on purpose on the garage floor, saves me from using my school bus words later on.... Welcome JM!

Hi there, just saw this. Sorry. Yes, I dremel them and then tumble them in my 33b rotary tumbler. I don't think I would try it in my 6lb barrels. I tumble pretty much everything I shape with agates (since that's mostly what I collect) for about a week in coarse, then save what is ready to move on until I have enough to fill a 3 pound barrel. All of the stages thereafter (dremeled cabs and regular tumbled stones) are done with plastic pellets. So far it's worked ok for me- I've had a few minor injuries, but for the most part it's been fine. And welcome to the board!
