Wow, how did you do it? Did they keep you tied up and only let you out to recharge the barrel? *smile* Those are going to be specatcular when they are done. Thank goodness the next stages don't take that long.

The 3rd to the last pic on the right hand side there is a rock that looks like something tasty it's got chocolate drizzled over the top of it. Nice looking batch too, you should be proud! Marian

The shapes are perfect! All the extra time is really going to be worth it. Besides, this is what rock tumbling is all about, patience.
Beautiful selection. I can't wait to see the finished results. You might what to use a fair amount of sugar during the 1000 and polish stages. The harder agates will bruise the softer turritella shells.

y'all should really know that i started this turritella before i got my rocks from cal last year in june and this is the 1st of 20 lbs to come through . i've used a lot of 60/90 grit on these! james how much sugar are you using in say a 6# barrel? sands i definitely would recommend slabbing/cabbing the turritella - surely it won't take over 10 mos. to shape it on the grinder lol. kim

It's hard to give an exact formula. What I do, is get the big measuring cup and keep adding until it looks right. Make sure that the water is hot. Once you find the right amount, record your results. I usually use about 4-6 cups for my modle B.
I still use pellets along with the sugar too.
