And also, a continuing size experiement. These pictures aren't good. This is why I don't take and post more pictures. First, some beach gravel I picked up in San Diego. Funny stuff, it was not rounded, not sure it was native, maybe brought in? I was surprised how well it polished. In real life the shine is very nice, except the green, which is duller. I have picked up rocks like this before, the green ones are always a problem. These next two are about the most obvious piece of pet wood I've ever picked up. It came from the Platte River between Cody and Yellowstone NP. Forgot the size ref., it's big, probably 3 inches on the longest part.

Hi Puppie , love your beachgravel , it does appear to have a good shine bar the green bits. indeed , there are types of stone that do not like to shine haha. Love your piece of pet-wood. I bet you were very excited when you found it. I know I was when I spotted a nice piece .
Thanks for the pics

Very nice beach rocks, I love the little white spots in them, nice shine. I have some green stuff too that is hard to shine but I keep tossing them back in the polish and it's coming slowly. Love the pet wood that piece is awesome.

Thank you everybody! Last night the computer kept dumping me out. This is the second time I've tried to do the Windows upgrade SP-2 and just like the first time some months ago, it repeatedly crashes the computer. I wasn't even sure these had posted. Now I am using my not-upgraded laptop and it is working much better.
I've read enough on this board about pet wood to know that there are soft spots and stuff in it, and there is a groove there where it seems to be softer so it doesn't have a smooth surface on that part. But, it just looks so woodsy in the shape it is in, it didn't seem right to keep grinding on it.
