I have a little 4" trim saw and with a strong desire to keep my fingers intact I came up with littl gadget that anyone who can work a drill can make. It is just a piece of 2"x2" angle iron, a $10.00 clamp and a pair of machine screws. I put in a lot of pics so You can get a good idea of how to make one yourself. I actaully cut the piece in the jaw before I went and put these pictures up.(to make sure it would work of course) But know I can cut 'Mini Slabs' to make cabs out of, and not woory about losing any digits. Here it is... Good luck!! -Banjo

Cool Micheal. Do you run the angle iron along the side of the saw table?

Yeah, I just have the lip over the edge and it is a tad over 2" to the blade. The machine screws can be adjusted to move the clamp up or down to get the stone a bit centered. I may have to add a little guide on the bottom edge closest to the saw blade. I think with the outer lip that retains the oil, it might be higher on the outside than the inside. But just keeping the guide on the outside, it works!!

Great work on that Jig Banjo!!! Very professional looking. I'm sure it'll be very helpful.
Any thoughts about making more and selling them on e-bay? They'd go for a lot of $ I'm sure. Jigs used for woodworking are worth quite a bit. I'm sure the same would go for rock ones.

Ya know, Alic, if I wasn't busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest I might consider it. But anyone here is welcome to the idea. I don't have a patent on it

My favorite saying is Necessity is the Mother of Invention, and you have just proved that with your vise. Good job. Tami
