Two usable slabs that will not be used. I had a one pound chunk of Haystack that I got some time ago and made three nice cabs from it. Most of the material was left but after trying different orientations there was nothing there. I found one of my small Montana pieces that was glued to a board. One slice and not worth working with. Tomorrow will be better.

Good luck tomorrow. If I recall correctly, you have to kiss toads, not frogs. ;-)

Welcome to the pond. I haven't had my saw working in quite a while so I have been doing a lot of slabbing. I'm done and moving on to trimming and splitting slabs. I think I have a lot of nice material to work with. The only thing close to a disappointment with the slabs pictured is the Haystack. I expected more form the piece. The Montana is what I expect and sometimes there are nice surprises. The only thing I might work on is the bottom middle. I have boxes of better Montana slabs.
