Hello everybody. Yesterday I went back outside in the sunshine and took more photos. Still, I am not sure how shiny these came out in the photo. Camera settings, for anyone that can help...I set it on the "sunny day" setting. There's also a setting called "spot" which says that if there's a bright background, it will focus and adjust light for the object you are focusing on. I am not so sure I understand this so well. I also used the highest quality photo setting. Have I complained this weekend about the computer and that it is crashing because I tried for the second time to install Windows SP-2? It particularly doesn't like this board. I am on my laptop which means I don't really know what the photos look like on a regular monitor. Having said that, what am I whining about? Perspective...Pope is dead, now that is important. And then there's the good news, like, Daylight Savings Time at last, sun is shining, and of course, GO ILLINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, right, this was about rock photos. These are pictures of individual rocks I liked a lot, and a small group of rocks, if I didn't dork this up too. Thanks for having a look!

and yet again , nice rocks in view keep me drooling allover the keyboard .. hehe
Pleased to hear you have sunshine. We have had an all night storm and it surely deprived me of much needed sleep. It stayed hot all night as well which is very unusual in our part of the world. It never got below 66 ( 17 C) degrees. And now before the sun is up it is already 70 degrees with a huge norwesterly blowing. This must be the mondaymorning storm of the century in southern New Zealand. signing off at 7.28 am
Predictions are for phenominal seas .

Hope all is well with you Jack, stay safe!!
Puppie, that one in the second photo, the orangy one is awesome!!! I love it. Well I like 'em all but an orange one with banding is just so unusual and unique. Photos are great too, fit the post perfectly for me.

Now, you're cookin! Those look really great. You know I'm not much for vugs, so the top rock isn't my favourite, but I could see how if you let your brain wander the vugs sort of become part of the image (one looks like some kind of creature walking on two legs), and then the bands surround the vugs, highlighting the images in them.
My preference though is for the big rocks in pics 2 and 3 -- nicely shaped and polished, fantastic banding, and the colours on that orange one are outstanding -- even looks to have a bit of blue lace in it. Good job.

i agree for the vugly-ugly, but if you dremeled that out and somehow could fill it with clear (epoxy?) or silver (solder? PMC?) the stone itself is beautiful.
better photos, Pup, sunshine is everything.
thanks for your perseverance!

Yes, thanks! Now I am on a regular monitor (for how long till it crashes, who knows), yeah, they look better. I also love that orange. Is that really unusual? It's about my most common color. The gray/blue/white would be second.

I think the holes in the rocks adds character to them - makes them unique and quite charming.
Love them all!
