Chuck, your cuts look very smooth, assume you are clamping these? I struggle with clamping the roundish Brazillians. Do use shims?
Thanks Henry

Thanks Henry Thanks- I really like the vise on my 14" saw so if a rock is an awkward shape I use that saw even if the rock is small enough to go in my 12" or 10" saws. I use a wide variety of shim sizes. My other trick for really awkward stuff is to not worry about slab yield on the first cut. I will get the rock in the vise in the best situation to hold it then make one cut. After that first cut I take the rock out and glue both halves to 2x4's. Once they are attached the rest of the cuts are a piece of cake. That way I am only stressed about the rock holding for a single cut. I use a MK301 blade and love the finish it leaves even after being on that saw for three years now. Chuck

Was actually thinking that I would start cutting them in half using my geode holder, then glue both halves to wood for further slicing. Have noticed that some of the "white-skin" Brazilians can have a hollow center with crystals, if one of those I would not do any slabs, just polish both halves. Unfortunately the geode holder does not work for geodes smaller than about 3 inches in diameter. Henry

Sweet looking. Almost looks like a sliced coconut with silky smooth milk.
