Hi everyone, Here are some of the photos that we were able to get this past weekend. We came across 11 deer standing off of the side of the road and when we stopped the car ... 9 of them took off over the hill. We were able to get two younger deer to pose for us ... I hope you like the photos. The other photos give you an idea of what the land looks like out in this part of New Mexico. A photo of the deer, just before they went over the hill. Here are two deer that didn't really know what to do ... run or pose. They decided to pose for us ... I am glad they did ... beautiful animals. Being a long time hunter, I knew that they would be crossing below in a small draw ... and we were able to get a couple of photos of them trying to sneak over the next hill. Here are a few photos of the surrounding area. More photo's to follow ... John

In the fourth photo ... the deer are hard to see ... there is one deer just about perfectly in the center of the photo ... it looks like it has a small tree growing off of it's back ... the others are trying to hide just to the right of the deer that I am trying to pin point out and just slightly below ... in the draw.

Thanks for sharing this experience with us John . neat countryside for rockhounds and deer alike.
It looks to be on the dry side of life.
I get a feeling that those deer are farmed as they are behind a fence. My neighbour has about a hundred deer on his farm. At the moment we can hear them calling as the mating season has started here.
