Hi everyone, Here are some photo's of the rocks that we were able to find at the Revuelo River area of New Mexico, just south of Logan, New Mexico. Yes, this is our cooler ... I emptied out the ice and cold water to make room for the rocks ... Nothing is safe from holding rocks ;D A closer view ... none of these have been washed yet. This is some type of Japser and it is a dark smokey grayish-purple color - very interesting. We found two pieces of this material, so I'll have to slab it up and see what I get out of it! This is a piece of Crinoid Limestone and it is jam packed with fossils. My wife (Robin) found this piece This is the Red Plume Agate and Hematite. Robin found the Red Plume Agate and I found the Hematite. You'll have to forgive the photos ... the wind is blowing about 40 miles an hour here today and I can't keep the camera steady enough for some really good shots in the sunlight Here are the Petrified Woods that we found alond the fence that keep people out of the Revuelo Creek banks ... which are about 70 feet deep and just about straight up and down The color combinations of the wood is spectacular! Definitely worth trying to contact the owner of the land and see if I would be able to search beyond the fences I hope you enjoy the photographs ... we certainly enjoyed being there this past weekend. Have a great day! John

Hi John. Looks like a good haul of rocks. I'd like to see some slabs of the red plume agate. Was that the only piece, or did you find more of it? I'm a little disappointed though, there was a lot of room in that cooler for more rocks. How'd the show go? Ed

Reminds me of our trips to Colorado when we were younger, My mother loved rocks and my dad loved my mother and would haul either up or down the mountain side a very large rock that mother wanted, I remember one time on the way home to keep the rocks in one place mother put the rocks in the shower of the camper. Hi everyone, Cookie - No beer ... I haven't had any alcohol since July 4th weekend in 1984. I was an alcoholic (most probably still am ... as I don't know if one ever gets over their addictions). There was a time in my life where alcohol was more important than my life, family and sadly enough my wife and new born son. It was then ... that I realized that I had a major problem and with the help and strength of our Heavenly Father, I was able to put my family back together and dedicate myself to them ... as opposed to the bottle. The hardest thing I drink now is a good glass of lemonade or strong tea I just realized that I have been clean for 21 years and 2 days Cher - The show was pretty good. We were told that there would be between 1,000 and 1,500 people that attended the show ... I think we were lucky if 400 to 500 showed up. Sales were fairly slow on Saturday and Sunday was slow until the last two hours of the show ... then it was fairly busy! We had just over 600.00 in sales ... it was a fairly good show. As far as the other shows we do annually ... it was an average show. Plus we got to go rockhounding ;D ... so, it was a very good weekend! Ed - Too little free time - was the main reason that we didn't get the cooler filled up Our mornings started at 5:00am, breakfast at 6:00am - 6:45am, drive to the rockhounding area till 7:15am and look for rocks for about an hour, head back to the motel and get showered up and change clothes by 8:45, drove to the show and was ready to go at 9:00am, 9:00am - 6:00pm attended the show, 6:00pm - 7:00pm went and got dinner, 7:00pm through 7:30pm went to the physical fitness area and worked out for about half an hour, 7:30pm - 8:15pm hit the hot tub/jacuzzi, then head up to the room and showered and was ready for bed! The onlt difference on Sunday was that we had an extra 2 hours to go rockhounding in the morning (subrtact a good 45 minutes driving - round trip) and then we were off at 4:00pm ... which allowed us to drive to the other location and gather stones for about an hour and a half before the sun set behinf the landscape ... so we could continue on our 4 hour drive home. We will definitely try to get more time in that area next time. John
