Theme is: (restart) Any cab that does not contain Green!
All hand made cabbing techniques may be used. Cabs entered must be hand shaped (can be finished in a tumbler but please note if so) and be completed by the last minute of the month in your timezone. They can be started before the month but only finished during the month. You must have 1 photo of ether a preform or slab of the rock. You can enter 1 cab with a up to 3 individual finished piece (not combined) photos of the cab, 2 extra photos will allocated for stones that have color play due to light or fluorescence or equivalent special characteristics (not polish). 1 of the 3 normal photos will be used for voting and if your stone has special characteristics 1 photo from that as well. Please note which photo you would like to use for voting. Voting is a fun way to see what cab folks like the most. Before voting you can change your photos or improve your cab (rework spots especially if you are asking for advice) and place new photos in your original post replacing old photos by the deadline. Please tell an approximation measurement of the length / width of the cab.
Finished jewelry cabs may not be entered (unless otherwise specified by the theme). It is OK if there is a hole drilled in the cab without a jump ring, as long as there is no extras on the rock (wire, chord, etc.)
All entries submitted to this contest must be unique to this competition (not submitted in several different competitions). Any duplicates will not be included in the voting list.
Feel free to share with us the story behind your workings or material.
Also, don't forget to include the name of the material.
If a tie occurs in the voting the breaker will be whoever submitted the finished item first.
If there are any questions feel free to ask. Beginners to old timers are welcome.
If you would like feedback (constructive criticism) ask for folks to pm you if they wish to offer tips. If you are new and think your cab isn't too good but its the best you can do post it anyway, getting feedback is how i got to where i am now!
Winner is allowed to chose theme for the month following voting. Winner must choose theme before the new month or before the new contest is posted after voting ends for the next month or a out of hat theme will be placed.

That is really cool I like side two Thanks, I'll be back in state tonight and get things posted soon. Might have to try some of my new material I found in NV. Green matrix breciated agatized and opalized fossilized wood. Ive got the opal in my suit cases, definitally will be better. Mailed 3 large flat rate boxes but the post master clearly didn't like them complaining she could get hurt moving 40 lb boxes... And proceeded to throw the boxes on a cart.

Cannot wait to see the wood! Funny about your mail carrier Must be something in the usps water Mine pulled into the driveway, threw the package on my mom's car and then took off. I'm still in disbelief at this

I would report her. Considering the USPS will lose almost $8 BILLION this year, they're obviously paying their employees too much.
MsAli - report that carrier, too. They could do some serious damage to a car doing that.

I also caught her on the loop back, her excuse was it was better than throwing it in the snow. cannot argue with that but really, next time get your lazy butt out of the car and come to the door, which is exactly what I told her, maybe not so politely though.

Good for you! We're pretty lucky with our mail carriers. Since we're rural, we have contract employees that deliver our mail, but they always put boxes on the front porch for us.

I put signs on my front screen door. "Please leave packages inside this door. Thank you." And below it another one because my porch doesn't have a doorbell- "Please knock on inside door." So, the carriers are now bringing it in and knocking on the door. Not what I meant, but it works for me. Only one time since I put up the signs did someone leave a package on the steps. Not bad.
But, I recently had a severe problem with getting a package delivered. I had to sign for it. They came when I was home and didn't knock on the inside door. This was before the sign and the reason why I put it up. I rescheduled the delivery and they never showed up. Called, waited an hour and a half, got a call back, rescheduled again and opened a case. They didn't show up AGAIN. Called again- escalated the case and it didn't show up on that reschedule, either. The case went to Richmond- their boss. Next day, it was delivered in my mailbox- no signature required. WTF?
Got a missing package from India, too. Doubt I'll ever see that one. Already opened a paypal case. Wish I could get good labradorite in the states. These Indian dealers are the WORST!

This is is how my rock tumbler was delivered from FedEx. I wasn’t going to be home and it was supposed to rain. I got home just in time as it was about to rain and there was a car parked sideways in the street facing my house and the guy was behind the car with the trunk open. Hmmmm!?!?! Man was I pissed!!! I HATE FedEx!

They could do some serious damage to a car doing that. yeah i did that, basically said i would never use that post office again as long as that postmaster is here. especially with the nasty attitude. Luckily Alaska Airlines has much better service and when the bags get stuck on the next plain because the plain is very overweight, they hire a company to deliver them to my door over an hour drive!! Probably along with many others, but both my bags weighed exactly 50 lbs.... and i bet noone here can guess why lol! Also tsa doesn't care if you carry on a huge rock or small rocks now. i read before smaller then hand sizes are allowed so i carried all my small stuff... would have carried my 26 lb rock instead had i known!
