Those are pretty cool looking. A BW3s by me has this type of rock as their landscaping and I always want to grab a few before I leave...LOL. Do you plan on laying them loose around your fire pit or are you going to lay cement and then push them? I think using them round your fire pit is a really cool idea.
I told my wife I wanted to go hunt some Yooperlite and put it around our fire pit. Hit it with some UV light and it would look like the ground around the pit was on fire...LOL

Idea was to place cement board or something over top of the tile base and a little of the wood floor surrounding that. Placing the smaller rocks on the tile with medium ones scattered about then have large ones edge it all. Wood chips and ash mess is a concern, so maybe epoxy it all down so it's secured. Picture of the potential project of when I moved in.

Yeah, I think the quartz cobbles will fit better with the rustic pine setting than does the current tile. Just be sure about clearances and insulation between the stove and combustibles - though you probably already are considering that.
