there have been so many cool photos in the last few days we are awash in lovely images. here are some cabs i've been working on lately when i haven't been out doing yardwork. it's finally spring here (aka the snow has melted, get the mower out!) and i have all those "Spring clean for the May Queen" issues to deal with....meanwhile, here is a very nice piece of a slab of Biggs Jasper that Sands sent me that i shaped and polished: and a piece of porcelain jasper that i am making for Sand's daughter, Doc is right, silver soldering ain't easy, so it might be Xmas before i get this set! now this is what i've asked BearCreek about shaping, i tried to do different template shape here, but darn if i am getting an oval anyway: but i am getting better with traditional ovals, i love this mex lace (surprise, surprise) and last but not least, you can't really see the depth of this red and black plume agate, but i truly believe it's my best work ever, got to work on the photography next! there are some lovely splashes of yellow in this too, i'll try and get a better photo, maybe when i get it set. it's thick! but my first really traditional "dome". thanks for looking!! KD

KD, those are some real beauties! You, like Sands, seem to have a natural flare for cabs. Can't wait to see what all you do with them!

Oooo Awesome! I don't know which one I like better! Ok I lied, I like the porc jasper. What's that one in the upper left, first pic? Looks like it has a very nice shape and shine to it. You are getting so good at this, can't wait to see your silver work. Haven't you made anything yet that you can show us?

Super Job KD!! What a nice selection too! I'd love to see one or all of those when you set them as well. I hope that 'Smithing' class is paying off. You sure have a knack for working with stone here! Thats just some great stuff!

Hey KD, those look really nice. Making nice evenly rounded domes like that isn't as easy as one may think. I know, I've been working at it lately also, and haven't gotten close to what you have there. Good Job.

Oh no, now look what you did, I have to add porcelian Jasper to my ever growing wish list.
But they all look great. You sure have an eye for bringing out the beauty in the stones.

Those cabs are beautiful. You are doing a great job, I am having a hard time waiting for my dad to rearrange his shop so we can get my saw/grinder/buffer set up and I can start cabbing. Tami

Hi is it too presumptuous of me to even ask how you go about getting those cabs to shine like that, Amazing! There's no way I could even dream of getting my stones to look like that. But that's why I'm a newbie and your definitely an expert. Thanks Bob
