You members here at RTH are so generous, thoughtful and kind. Tis the season to want to gift to others. PLEASE be VERY careful when being requested to share personal information about your RTH friends. If someone messages you and wants another member's address and/or other personal information- DON'T give it out unless you know the member who is asking. We've all done it, I've done it. You want to surprise someone and keep it on the down low. No issues with that. Just BE SURE you know who it is doing the asking. There really are bad people out there who want personal information for nefarious reasons. So, just BEWARE.
ETA- No - you are not going crazy.... probably. I had to move this post from where it was because of the post limit to see it.

Hello all
I know about that warning all to well
I was recently scammed badly
For my situation almost- fatally
I Feel so stupid to have been taken
Geez you’d think with age would come lessening of naive
Anyway I really messed up!
And caused myself so much grief.
I’ve done it so many times in my existence
And have preserved through all them
W/ a Socratic Soul intact
proud of that
But in reality it just tough
Anyway I cant afford to beat myself up over it.
Good thing is that I start at Amazon tomorrow
Hard work and little money will get me through
And mostly a little help from my rock pal acquaintances

Yep I bought 1300 dollar paperweight and i was fast talked into it Can't believe all the effort I did and then the timing chain broke 2 days before I start That was the purpose to have something dependable to get me to Amazon Luckily my landlord is bailing me out and letting me borrows his wheels/ If that hadn't happened: not only would I have been in debt, and without wheels; I would have lost the potential of the 4 grand I'll make doing the peak hiring gig. not sure I could psychologically handle that. Oh wow! Sorry to hear that, Ed. That sucks! But, I'm so glad your landlord is helping you out. So, the bright side is- there ARE good guys in the world despite how bad the bad guys make people look.

Yep As mentioned I can't beat myself up over it And luckily the good guys are helping out They have Done a lot for me I try to stand independent and I've certainly been of assistance to many behind me And have always associated with good guys! Its funny how you put the warning up Even tho… we all know Nonetheless it is easy to get taken Not sure what law that is ? Murphy, I suppose, is closest I’m just glad that someone is bailing me out again Buy a few more years of kicking it Anyway thanks dear ! Sorry to hear about your troubles. There sure are some crooks out there.
Last year my Dad helped a guy out by buying a load of wood from him (which he didn't need.)
The guy repaid him by stealing his 4-wheeler.
I'm pretty sure the wood and trailer he brought it with had been stolen, too.
The police were less than useful, to put it kindly.
