These don't really look shiny at all! They really do here. I'm not much of a picture taker. The pits really show up though. Most all of them will probably go back in my big do over bin. Trish

I really like the banded ones in the second picture (The one in the middle, the one above it, and the tiangle one to the left of it) Great work Trish

Wow, what a gorgeous variety of stone. Great colors and banding, you did a good job getting a shine on them. What a shame about the pitting but that's where it takes the extra effort in the coarse stage, the one that takes the most patience. It's really hard not to just push things on to the next step but if you find pits or can feel the edge on the fractures, don't move it up. This is when I use my dremel a lot. You'll find, especially with agates, they seem to have a lot of pits. You can generally smooth them out pretty easy with the dremel if they are not too deep.

Thanks, I just pulled all those shiny agates with pits and put them back in coarse. Want them to be pretty. I just got a dremel. Guess I should have tried that first. Having a jard sale this weekend. After it's over, I may open the barrel and try a few with the dremel. Thanks, Trish

Those look pretty good to me....I would not be real unhappy with a run like that.

Thanks everyone. They really are shinier than they look. I took a bunch out tonight and tried out my new Dremel. I got several pits out. They are back in course to smooth out a little. Then we'll do the whole process over. I still have one more 6 lb barrel in polish. The Dalmation Stone just doesn't want to shine. I'm going to leave it in about another week and see what it get. You have a beautiful batch of rocks there. The only thing I notice was a few pits where the polish may have stayed on the stone leaving a white spot. Tami

Nothing wrong with that batch- Nice assortment of roch there- I have trouble with getting the shine to show up in photos also- I just blame on the batteries!

Trish,
They look nice to me!! Some of that looks like some Lake Superior Agate my sister brought me from Duluth (not in the tumbler yet). What little experience I have had with Dalmation, is that it is tough to polish.
Thanks for sharing the photos!
