Got a chance to grind these out, the first is a piece of Graveyard Point (I believe) that I picked up from a rock show. Boy, that stuff isn't easy to work with, is it? The second is Leopardskin Jasper that rockjunquie sent me and is another asymmetrical heart. I'm leaving it flat-topped, I'm planning on making a keychain out of it if it plays nice in the tumbler. Thanks for looking!

I would call that one Regency Rose instead of Graveyard Point because I'm seeing a hint of pink in it along with that lovely gold/yellow.
Nice stones! Hope the heart plays nice in the tumbler for you.

You are probably right, he threw in a piece of Regency Rose- but I thought I still had it. I'll have to check, thanks. I hope so, too, I like that stuff.

Thanks Beth. I'm a lot happier with the shape of the second one than the first . The first one is fairly small so I decided to leave it the way it is.

I just picked up a piece of jewelry at a thrift store yesterday. I had seen it there before, but it was more then I wanted to pay.
Stopped in yesterday, and it was half off! It was listed as dino bone, but we all know better. Can you see why I bought it? I just love how all the colors of the beads work.
A little pitty, and maybe not the greatest polish on it, but the colors just pop! (Sorry for the crummy cell phone pics. Raining today, so taken inside.)
I don't wear brooches, so not sure how much use I'll actually get out of it. But it is a nice design, and fun to look at!
Didn't mean to hijack your thread miket, but figured you wouldn't mind too much. I know how everyone likes photos of pretty rocks and jewelry.

BTW- rockpickerforever, you can easily make a brooch converter and wear it as a pendant. You should just be able to google it.

Thanks for the compliment, Jean! Yep, I can see why you got it. Very nice colors. It's a fun stone to work with, too, very stable. I didn't get the greatest polish on the last one I tumbled, we'll see how these do. Maybe it was me, maybe it's the rock? Oh, and I don't mind a good hijacking one bit!

Thanks, Tela! I Google brooch converter, and I think that would do the trick. I had not even thought of that, could not have pictured that the solution was so simple!
FYI, the brooch was marked $25. I'm not saying it was overpriced, since I know the amount of time and expertise that goes into making something like that. I simply did not want to pay that much for something I probably won't wear AS A BROOCH.
But half off, that was a deal. And once I buy the converter, I can wear it as a necklace!
miket, anxious to see the rest of those free form cabs finished. I'm sure they'll be beauties!
