Here are a few pics of some fluorescent minerals from my collection. The first photo is under regular light and the second is under long wave. They are Wernerite, Fluorite, Terlingua Calcite, and Hackmanite. The next photos are Willemite, Calcite, Glass Slag, and Terlingua Calcite. (Notice how the Terlingua Calcite fluoresces differently under short wave and long wave light.) Sorry about the size of the pictures. If anyone can make them smaller please do, or if you can show me how it's done, let me know. P.S. I just modified the bottom two pics, because I think these are nicer. I also forgot to mention the Agrellite which is the one underneath the Calcite/Willemite on the top right corner. Condor

if you can resize to 800 x 600 pixels it will fit most screens, that is what i use. i resize in PaintShop Pro before uploading to photobucket.
those are great photos, thanks for sharing!

Hi Condor, What a pleasant surprise to see the same beautiful display from your fotos that I saw on saturday night at a rockhounds den in the city of Dunedin ( New Zealand).
Our club had gone for a week-end rockhounding outside our usual area and teamed up with the Otago club. Part of the outing was this visit to the rockhounds "cave" where we were treated to a very nice display including ultra violet light which showed the rocks in totaly different light haha.
Thanks for your pics

Hey Gaetz,
The fluorite and Terlingua calcite, I collected in New Mexico and the Terlingua area of Texas respectively. The bright yellow Wernerite, I bought off this elderly gentlemen who was getting rid of his collection of various rocks. I have many more others that I have collected and also bought at different rock shows. I once went collecting at the Purple Passion mine in Arizona and came back with about 300 pounds of the Purple Passion fluorescent rocks, including one that weighs close to one hundred pounds. Bill Gardner, a great guy, and one of the co-owners of that claim, let me and my wife collect until our hearts were content.
Congratulations to Stefan. He correctly identified the happy face as Wallmartite. I put that one in there for the heck of it. It's a little candle that I bought at .....drum roll please..........Wal-Mart.
