American Lands Access Association Meeting in Quartzsite on January 18, 2020
“It’s Confirmed....” At the ALAA Meeting in Quartzsite on January 18, 2020 at the Quartzsite Community Center 295 East Chandler Street starting at 7:00 PM MST, our guest speaker will be Congressman Paul Gosar of Arizona’s 4th District and Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus. The Congressman will discuss the latest information on Public Lands legislation and how the laws may effect Recreational Rockhounding in the Western States. He will inform us on what the Congressional Western Caucus is doing regarding Public Lands. We may find out what we can do to help keep Public Lands Open for Recreational Activities, such as Recreational Rockhounding. Please try to attend this important meeting. A Question and Answer opportunity follows the presentation.

Sounds like the west coast may turn out to be like the east coast already is. East coast is predominantly privately owned. The west is predominantly BLM "public land". The end result may be the same, but the path is very different. This is a political power grab.

I went to high school with Paul Gosar and we had 31 senior classmates graduating in 1977 in a podunk Wyoming town. He has conservative roots and I think he would be one of the better politicians to have on our side.
