The teardrop is my favorite. Great job for your first wraps.

Very nice first attempt. I’d never have the patience or skill for such work.

Looking good!
I like the 1st one, but I also am more prone to like seeing the stone and not having it so covered up by wire.

Great job. I see a lot of things done right. Your binding and weaving look good and the overall execution is very nice esp for a newbie. Keep up the good work. I will add that in the second picture, it looks like you have 2 wires sticking out in the middle. ALWAYS avoid having wires stick out. They scratch and poke the wearer.

Great job on both of those for your first tries! They look great.
When you must leave some wire not tucked in (as in the second photo) use a fine needle file or a fine piece of sand paper to smooth out the rough edges so there is no scratching or snagging. Especially on square wire, I file the edge toward the end to round it out a bit and make it smooth. The cheap tiny diamond needle files work great for that, especially with square wire.

Great job! I am always amazed at how quickly members on here learn new skills I can only dream of doing! Seems I just read some threads of yours not long ago where you were just learning cabbing and now wrapping. and here I am a year into tumbling and still trying to get that figured out lol.

As soon as I snipped them I instantly regretted it. But after I clipped em it was obviously too late. I think I should have just rolled them towards the back of the stone with the tiny pointed pliers.

I’ll go back and try to file them. I have a set of needle files laying around in a tool box. Thanks for the advice, hopefully I left mouth to round them down like you said.

Looking good! I like the 1st one, but I also am more prone to like seeing the stone and not having it so covered up by wire. I agree I love seeing the whole stone. I’ve seen some posted on here where it’s just held in by a few wires coiled in towards the stone. I just can’t find a tutorial on how to do it. I’m not a huge fan of the the wraps with tons of wire with all kinds of designs all around them. I’m sure lots of people like them, but I prefer the stone.

Yea I’ve really jumped down the rabbit hole. I think it’s because I really enjoy doing it. It’s so calming. And also I’m hoping if I get good enough I can do this after retirement and make enough money to survive. But that’s a hopeful dream. I haven’t tumbled a lot lately just because it was killing my electric bill here in California.

I tried wrapping a few times and just cant seem to get the hang of it, to my liking anyways.
I think as most things, you get the basics down and then find your own style. You've got the bail down better than I ever did.

There was a video on YouTube for the teardrop I did that explained the bail perfectly. She showed it step by step. Without that I would have had no clue how to do one. I’m excited to see what I can come up with once I have the basic concepts down. It’s a lot of fun. And hopefully it makes my cabs worth more. I think the hardest part of this process is going to be identifying all the random stuff I have and trying to come up with a price. I did look at a series of posts about pricing that helped a little.

If you can't get to them with a file, then wrap a little sandpaper around something thin and just sand those edges of the wire smooth. Even a toothpick will work with a bit of sandpaper on it.

Good job on the wraps- I haven't had the patience to try weaving a bail yet. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a go.
