I just have to post this thing! I like it so much, I've taken a week to try to come up with which sort of wrap I'm gonna do on it. I found it in one of my many loads of rocks and it was just about the size you see here and didn't need a whole lot of shaping. No trim saw was involved in the making of this cabachon. It is 1 1/4" high and 3/8" wide. I believe I now have a new favorite stone. For this month anyway ;D It's sitting on a little piece of beeswax, in case you were wondering??? I'll try to remember to post the finished piece once it is completed. P.S. Yes, I am still tumbling stones. But I've got some of the fossil Agate in 60/90 that is going to be beautiful, but it is going to need a lot of time in the rough, and I've got it in both 15# Thumblers. (A real lack of foresight displayed with that decision) And wrapped- It looks like this.... The pictures under tungsten light are always hard to get good or correct color. It is wrapped in Gold, and I wanted it to be simple, so it doesn't detract from the stone. But I know there are a few of you who wanted to see it finished. AND even a picture of the back thrown in. Thanks for the forum to post this! -Banjo {note} The little bits of white, if you see them on the bottom of the stone, are a reflection from the material it is setting on.

Ed- That's Antelope Jasper, from Oregon, or Idaho. It's a real neat stone. It usually has very similar lines to the other picture Jaspers from that area but it usually has a 'Brick Red' color, sometimes in with the browns of the other Owyhee's. I'm trying to get a hold of as much as I am able from a fellow I know because I am hoping to do a lot more wire wraps with it. Here is another pic of it rough...

WOW What a beautiful Cab, can't wait to see it wrapped. You are going to post a pic of it when it's done right?
I was not going to show that to my wife - but did, she was very impressed too.
Thanks,
Jeff

Indeed, wow, that is a beautiful stone. I would set it in gold. It commands a plate, bezel, and fetishes. It is a gem in its own right.

That is a beautiful stone, I love the different patterns and colors in it. No matter what you come up with on the wrapping it will be beautiful. Tami

Hello Banjo,
Buddy ... you are definitely going to be making a name for yourself, when it comes to cabs ... that one is absolutely spectacular!
I think I have to agree ... gold ... I believe it will only enhance the beauty of the stone ... if that is possible ;D
Excellent job there my friend,
John
