Went out on a few trips this year and have some pics to share with you from some different sites. This unnamed jasper was pulled from the Barrier river in bc. Enjoy! This one is jasper and not sure? Havent had time to cut into it yet. Chert.

Great finds and a beautiful site. I love being near running water places like that. So peaceful and relaxing.

I have panned gold in that river. Nice jaspers. Also, keep your eyes open for agate, although they are more plentiful a bit to the west.

Thanks, never seen agate in that river my guess is upstream from Barrier? Go west and south and it is so abundant, didnt help being mid summer and the rock's were so coated with slime it was difficult even spotting the jasper. Stopped and did some panning around lillooet on the fraser near the cn tunnels, no color just black sand.

Thats the kind of places I like exploring for rocks. Take a break and wet a line before heading home with a bag full of rocks and a full stringer. Now that's a great trip. Oh nice finds by the way

One place for gold fines in the pan is under the bridge on the north side of Little Fort. A nice place for agate is Watching Creek at Kamloops.
