Almost out the window 😊 There is an open creek down the road from the house. If we are lucky the swans are in it when we drive by.

You're lucky to see them in the wild near your house. it really is amazing to see all of them that have returned to the area. There is a field not too far from here that when the snow melts they meet up to breed. Must be 100 + in the field

Something fun I found today. My Mom's last check from Allis Chalmers. She left there for a better paying job at Perlick Company.

The weirdest thing is happening tonight!! The snow is actually falling DOWNWARD...and not sideways! You may never hear me saying this ever again...but it's actually kind of pretty!

Well...the snow is still coming downward...but at a rate of about 3" an hour right now! Sheesh! We felt that pain for 6 straight days here in the foothills of Sunny Southern California..........not something we are inclined to be prepared for or welcoming. 2 days at most typically. This part of the county at +2700' elevation got +6" that hung around for a week. The rain and moments of sunshine have all but removed the mess........You, on the other hand, should be quite comfortable........given the nature of your historical climate and physical location........now we, who have only experienced this one other time since 1989, can share our experience with others, like yourself..........but our nights are only getting down to 32*.......nothing like yours........lol

Unreal! LOL The forecast is calling for snow from now until Thursday...so we'll see if the rest of the week will be like today's example. I'm not sure I'll ever get "used" to winter...I haven't in the last five decades! LOL - I will say I'm probably a LOT more familiar with it than y'all! I really do feel badly when areas like yours (and Robin and Vince as another example) get the kind of weather like y'all have lately.

I like to b*tch when we get snow, but I spent the first 50 years of my life in the Chicago area. What we get here is nothing compared to that. Vince grew up in Virginia (Appalachian Mtns.) so he is also no stranger to snow. It almost always melts away in a few hours after it stops; at least most of it.

I had about 4-5" of downward falling snow last night from maybe 8 PM to 3 AM. When I went to the barn there was light rain and over 1" of water/slush under the snow.
I prefer snow falling down to sideways, lol.
I too, feel for those getting lots of snow that are not used to it.

fernwood 99 cents? For how long of a pay period do you think? I can’t remember for sure but I think my first hourly wage was around $4.25 maybe.
