fernwood 99 cents? For how long of a pay period do you think? I can’t remember for sure but I think my first hourly wage was around $4.25 maybe. It might have been for an hour. I don't know for sure.

Took this yesterday walking back from the barn. We are supposed to get 6-7 more inches of snow Thursday-Friday. Glad I am not scheduled to work those days.

How about something different from snow- we had our spring time trip to the beach yesterday to St Vincent NWR.
7 miles of beach all to ourselves. It was a kind of a gray hazy day, not too hot.
But on the trail back to our kayaks, we saw this very interesting slender little snake.
He is Rough Green Snake (Opheodrys aestivus), a very small harmless, curious little guy. What was interesting, as I tried to take photos of him with my phone, he kept coming closer and closer, moving with a curious head weaving motion.
What was really cool was that he never touched the ground, he was weaving his way through the grass blades the whole time.
Then when he got really close to the phone, he decided he was going to scare himself & took off (maybe he saw his reflection & didn't like the looks of it!)
But I got a couple of really good shots of him.

Cute little guy. Interesting that he stayed off the ground. Re possibly seeing his reflection in your phone—- I wonder/don’t know. I don’t think my cat even sees her reflection, or maybe she just doesn’t care.

Shortleaf pine trees loaded with pine cones. Grey squirrels are all over the place.

I just found this 1940 photo today. My Mom is the girl with black hair. Today would have been her 96th Birthday. Others in the photo are her parents, brother and grandma. I do not know who the girl is to her right, but will eventually figure it out.

A grey squirrel with a white tail has been hanging out behind the camper today with the other solid grey ones.

Was plowed out yesterday. Another 7" of icky, white stuff predicted for tonight-tomorrow. My plow guy was nice enough to include some driveway gravel in the snow plow piles. When the snow melts, I will have lots of rock piles to look through. In the past I have found fossils, agates, jaspers and more in my driveway. My Sierra dog loves to jump on the huge pile of snow. It is now at about 8'.

It got warm enough that the creek behind our house just opened and water is running. Spring is coming.
