I'd be in also. I don't make the best cabs, yet- maybe the unlucky person following me could "fix" it...

I've many times wanted to send my cabs to people so they can tell me what I'm doing right or wrong. It's really hard to tell from pictures. I bought one from Tela a while back and was very surprised at the differences that I saw and what I got. NOT to say her pictures weren't accurate cause they're perfect. It just gave me a different perspective when I held it in my hands.

In fact, those are the only two I've still seen in person. I'm kind of trying to learn on my own- besides the feedback that I get on here of course.

When I first started, I bought cabs from a Sam Silverhawk, who's cabs I admired. www.samsilverhawk.com/gems1.htmlJust to hold one in my hand, and see if I could replicate it! His don't have beveled edges, and I still haven't mastered cabs with a beveled edge. Beveled works great for silversmithing, but not as well with my style of wire wrapping.

Me too Mike, I didn't know what a cabochon was until I had bought the saw combo to use in the rock tumbling process. Then I went to a rock show and learned about cabbing, now the tumblers are all boxed up and I'm addicted to making cabs.
