I was gifted a snowman badge by a member here. Just noticed it disappeared.
How does that happen?

LOL on melting. I checked and noticed that this gift is no longer available.
Dunno, but if Proboards eliminates a certain gift, will it disappear?

Snowmen were never available as a gift. You got one when someone threw a snowball at you, and it changed into a snowman.
I see there are still members that have snowballs (never realized they were supposed to throw them?), and they can still be purchased in the badge store. Contact someone who hasn't thrown theirs, and ask them to throw it at you. Instant snowman!
As for them disappearing, guess they have an expiration date? Dunno.

Yup, once a snowball is thrown at someone it turns into a snowman badge for that person, but it only last for so many days before it melts and disappears. I’m curious as to what the hot potato one does and what badges it reveals and if they are permanent or if they to disappear.

Yeah I'm puzzled too - I have never heard of any of the badges expiring nor have I ever bought one that I can remember. I will poke around and see what I can learn about it.

Thanks Tommy. I was throwing snowballs at members last year. They are still shown in their profile. I just received the snowman a couple of weeks ago. This was different than the snowballs from last year. |

Thought I’d just continue on this thread with questions about gifts and badges. It’s the only one I found.
I suddenly have a cookie 🍪, thumbs up 👍, and star ⭐️ badge in my profile. I only just noticed them the last day or two but I’ve also been busy and not super active for a while. I scrolled through my notifications for the last month and don’t see any about these badge gifts. Does anyone know? Is it like a time here or number of posts or likes thing? Or did someone actually gift 🎁 me? 🤔

When you buy a badge for someone, you have the choice to remain anon, otherwise- you get an email.

I usually go on the forum on my computer - I have a hard time reading on my phone (old eyes lol)...there's a spot that says it was from someone anonymous, no name shared. It is very sweet. |
