Those black and white ones would be great for some skull cabachons.

Looks like it worked well for you. What blade did you use?

Looks like it worked well for you. What blade did you use? So far I'm using the one that came with it until it won't burn through another rock even after dressing it. Then I will most likely be making a 10" saw out of it

Looks like it worked well for you. What blade did you use? It's quite thick and not really a continuous edge but so far it works alright

Yeah, you hit the ground runnin' alright! Nice even slabs.
That blade thickness is probably about like what would be on a 12-14" saw. Maybe .070-.080"? We use .050" MK-225 Hot Dog blades on our 10".
Segmented rim blades are good. The "Hot Dog" blades are one of my favorites.

Will that .050" MK-225 Hot Dog blade work on a 10” 4000 rpm tile saw?

RocksInNJ - 4000 RPM is probably too fast for a lot of lapidary blades. Will have to look into recommended RPM/SFM later.
Good that you thougth of the RPM range for blades. That's always important.

Yea I was searching their site earlier and found that. Looks like I might be ok, but still unsure. I know nothing about blades and just want to make sure that I have options. Don’t want to hijack your thread, so I may start a new on later tonight. Thanks for the info.

I'm leaning towards an MK-301 blade or similar, but I see conflicting reports of whether it can be used without an oil-based coolant. I really hate oil, as a mechanic lol

Damn that’s another thing I have to worry about now lol. Maybe I’m just not meant to have a saw.

If I were you I'd probably buy a cheap one/used one first to see if I even liked cutting rocks, before investing in a better or more expensive one.

Well I planned on using the one that comes with the saw, but don’t expect it to last very long. I just want to make sure that I can get and use better blades on this saw, before I spend the money on it.

I like that cut, they came out really nice. They have a 7 in. Tile Diamond Blade (2-Pack) $40.00 It also cuts 0° to 45° left and right.. Not that I noticed, but that Red Shop rag give it away.
