Here are a few wraps which I'm happy with. Some of you are probably cringing at some of the cabs -- some of them were very cheap and it shows -- but having done these and a few other practice pieces, I feel like I can wrap the good stuff with silver without having to cut it off five times to get it right

The last one is an Australian black opal 11mm long. I spent a heck of a long time trying to figure out how to mechanically secure it before accepting that I'd need some help from glue. Don't want to hide any of that gorgeous fire, after all.

Thanks, everyone! hummingbirdstones , the little one in copper is synthetic. I'm planning on rewrapping it in silver because I'm not crazy about how the predominant dark reds are playing with the copper.

Did you patina or treat the copper wire? I love the way you did the light green (serpentine?)

Oh good. If it was natural I was gonna say that stone needs to be set in gold!

I agree, silver would be better with it.

julieooly , I haven't treated the copper wire at all. I have no idea what the light green one is, but I gave the copper on that one a polish before photography. The rest are just natural aging from whenever I wrapped them, sometime this past year.
