Ok so I got a bunch of copper jump rings, an assortment of 18g. The package I got was $16.95 for 100 each Saw Cut 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10mm OD for a total of 1,000 pieces. I'm looking back at Rio and I see that they list theirs as machined with the ID while Copper Wire USA (Amazon) uses the OD. I saved a few dollars and obviously there is a small size difference between the two, but going forward is it better for me to stick with Rio and the ID? I'm guessing they're just better quality rings and the measurement isn't critical unless you're trying to be consistent in your piece. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CFG2POU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

18 ga is .04" diameter, so you'd double that then subtract from the OD measurements.

I prefer using the ID since I am going to be putting something through it. I don't think I have ever bought them that only listed the OD. But, yeah, if you do the math, which I hate to do, it really doesn't matter, I guess.

Saw cut better for jewelry applications. See here:

In my experience, "saw cut" with a power-assisted tool is "machined". Using a jeweler's saw to cut one out of a section of wire, and then forming, is "hand cut". Peace, James
