I haven't been doing much lately, bad back has kept me out of the shop. Hopefully soon in can get back working in there. I have been playing with some wood and photoshop! This one is a 5 inch tall piece of Stining Water Oak cut to show the rays as in quartersawn lumber.

I hope everyone on here has a real good Christmas. We went and cut down a nice noble fir yesterday that we will trim out today. We have a Christmas tree farm right next to us that we get them from, Good neighbors and good trees!

It's amazing how the original structure of the wood transferred into the rock.

Our kitchen cabinets and drawers all have quartersawn doors and drawer fronts. Looks jut like this piece of pet wood.
