Finally after an extra tumble in 60/90 grit my red and blood jasper are done. The blood jasper for some reason wound up with a satin finish, however the red jasper got a beautiful glass finish, I hope it shows. Red Jasper before. Blood Jasper before. Both after. I might re-do the blood jasper when I get a chance. Tami

I'd be interested in your recipe as well. I've been tumbling some jasper for a while also. I too have experienced the slight chipping as shown on your rocks. I had to go back to course and tumble with pellets to get a good batch out of course. The shine you got looks gorgeous. Good photos as well.

I like the satin finish, my bloodstone had that as well and I love how my bloodstone turned out. I used Cerium Oxide on this the only other polish I have is Aluminum Oxide. I had just had such great luck with the CO that I just haven't thought about using something else. My recipe for the jaspers was 4 weeks in 60/90 with a recharge at 2 weeks 1 week in 120/220 1 week in 500 1 week in 1000 1 week in Tripoli 1 week in polish Tami

Great photos! They do look nice with a matte finish but I too am stuck on the shine. Hope if you try again they shine up for you.

Nice rocks and nice photos. Nice of you to share before and after. I wish I took the "before" photos more often.

You are all very welcome, I really think I like the satin finish on the blood jasper, I might keep them the way they are. I now have lace agate and prairie agate going in 60/90 grit. Will post photos of those when they are done as well. Tami

I think you did a nice job on those Tami. It looks like you left them in the 60/90 a good amount of time and got rid of the corners and got that nice rounded shape. Very Nice!
