Dear Friends ... Would like to know where to purchase quality rough rainbow moonstone, and also looking to purchase core drill samples 3" or larger dia. material. Material not that important - only that it be solid and can be slabbed. Any assistance in locating these requests would very much be appreciated. If you desire you may send a PM. Thank you all very much and Best Wishes for the coming New Year.

I have seen lots of drill core and know places it can be picked up by the truckload. However, I have never seen discarded core samples that large.

Quality rainbow moonstone (labradorite) is hard to find. Most comes from India and ordering from there is always a crapshoot. Besides, they prefer to sell cut goods, not rough. I had one supplier for cut RM that offered quality stones but he's no longer selling. If you're interested he has the best I've ever seen but it's $$$. His name and contact info are on file and I can look it up if you wish.

I'll have to pass on that supplier, for now!

Large core samples - could be found in oil drilling locations... They just leave them lay by the pits when the rigs are done drilling... I use to bring them home, but than they got to be a chore, so I just tossed them too...
