thought it was pyrite... but if you look close it has purple, yellow, orange, and copper colors on the surface. any ideas?

Probably chalcopyrite. The colors are tarnish.

What color is the streak? Green with a tinge of black is chalcopyrite. pyrite is black

That is a nice mineral specimen. I am not a specimen collector, but when I find cool looking stuff like that, I usually leave it sitting out on top of another large rock so someone can find it and appreciate it more than I.
