I had a chance to work some stones I've been wanting to get to yesterday, here's what I came up with. Now they're off to the tumbler, thanks for looking! First Ruby in Fuchsite from rockjunquie . Not sure how I'm going to polish these it's super soft. Jade, also from rockjunquie . Graveyard Point

If they’re really soft, I’d wait until you get that vibe. Not only will it be gentler on them, but you also have the option of doing them in a dry polish to lessen the chances of damage. Do note, that I’m not speaking from personal experience, but from what I have learned here. I’m sure someone with experience will be along shortly.

I will probably wait, I have some other stones that are soft waiting. My vibe is supposed to be here on the 7th, I ended up getting a Raytech Tumble-Vibe TV-5. I'm pretty excited to see how well it works.

I have polished soft stones with the Dremel. Used various attachments with home made polish made from tumbling powder and water. Worked well for Petosky stones and others.
That Ruby in Fuchsite would be an excellent candidate for this method. I would not put it in a vibe. But, I have no vibe experience, so maybe it would come out fine.

Nice stones, miket! I'd wait for the vibe on the Ruby in Fuchsite for sure. The Graveyard Point may have some undercutting in the plumes. The jade - you're on your own - LOL! Jade and I don't like each other. Don't know that a vibe would do much for it unless it was already to the point where it was ready for a final polish.
