Here are a few that came out of an jamesp style sugar slurry polish today. First up some pieces of a slab that stardiamond was so nice of to send me. I can't help but see the outline of a flying dove in the first one. It will get a bail glued on to "make" a pendant to accompany the earrings I made out of the same material.
Backside of the one above:
Some cool green stuff in a rock I found in an old quarry: And the back: A cool tile sawed shape that has been in the vibe for longer than any rock I have, experimenting: Granite, I guess? One to show the shine and another one to show the colors" Weird little sliced guy: Quartz?: A little shard of Montana moss: A green rock: Amethyst: A white rock that isn't looking very white in this picture: A desert jasper: On this one I'm thinking sedimentary sandstone almost, but some parts of it took a good shine. Another experimental polish job: This one is very cool looking, and I don't want to hurt my feeble brain trying to identify all that it is composed of:
The rest of the load were mostly sister slabs that looked a lot like these pictures, or stones that didn't come out very well being of soft material.
Some also disappeared before the photo shoot! Never turn your back on a shiny rock!
Since I got my tile saw I have gone through 2 blades, cutting everything in sight. Recently, and on my 3rd blade now, I have slowed down on the slabbing and plan on doing a LOT more plain old whole-rock tumbling unless I find some really good stuff to wear out blades on. Many of the rocks I find are pretty fractured and not much use making shapes as well, so no use wearing blades out on those.
Thanks for looking! Hopefully I have some better material done soon so I can bug you with more/better pictures!

Those are some really nice rocks you got there. The first few pictures would make unbelievable pendants I bet. Silver smith or Wire wrap, or something like that. I like the Amethyst alot too. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, nice work EricD. Especially like that desert jasper, but they're all very nice. Can I ask what kind of "little saw" you got. I am just cutting rocks with a little diamond grinding wheel and a dremel, and my fingers get awfully close to that blade. I'd like to get a saw, but don't want to break the bank.

I got a Ridgid 4021 7" tile saw off of ebay for $125, list price is over $200. 1HP motor and easy to work with, not a lot of splashing or slinging water. But I would recommend the Harbor Freight 7" saw over this one because it is easier to up the blade size to 10" I hear? This one took a lot of heat gun finessing to fit even an 8" blade.
My saw, still 7":

Nice work Eric. #6 down with the filled cracks is my favorite.
