My Rosetta lace came in the mail today! Not the best picture, but you can make it out Now if I can only figure out what to do with this one. Keep it as is, throw it in the barrel, or take a dremel to the bottom. You can't tell from the picture, but all the crystals up on top are pretty clear. and quite impressive to look at

What's the difference between mexican lace & rosetta lace?
Beautiful rocks there! As for the last pic, how about a dremel & a nice cab?

I have some Mexican lace, and the difference between the 2, as far as I can see is color.
My mexican lace has a lot of blue/grey, and a lot of pieces are white-ish, and very little red.
There's much more red and pink in the Rosetta (I like red in rocks).
But as far as patterns go, they're pretty much the same.
On another note, The mexican lace that I have, comes from Mine Run Gems. Very poor quality compared to the rosetta lace (which came from Green's)

That stuff is really pretty, I never heard of it before. I like red rocks too. Hope they tumble well for you.

Thanks Cher
The first time I ever saw / heard of it was a cab that KD made (it's on Kim's site). Ever since I saw it I searched all over for some, and couldn't find any. So I gave up.
One day Tweetie sent me a couple of Canadian web sites, and lord and behold! one of the sites carried Rosetta rough.
So I guess in a way, Tweetie deserves some thanks. THANK YOU TWEETIE!!!! ;D
I sure hope they come out nice too, and not like my disaster garnet batch.

Thanks Alice for the Thanks, it wasn't necessary - just a fellow canuck helping out another - if rosetta is like mexican lace but in reds then I may have another site for you priced at about $2.50/lb - my last batch had reds in there too - they do look like yours, but I couldn't be sure - maybe I can post some.
PS I may have found a canadian site that sells sterling silver wire for about $17 for about 10 meters!! I may still be in luck - can't find twisted wire here though

Tweetie I'm not sure what the difference is. But in my eye's they are the same, only different in color.
Maybe someone who knows about Crazy Agates can answer a little more in depth. Is there a difference between the 2?
Yes! Please share where us Canadian's can get less expensive rock. But at $2.50 a pound... sounds like you would get what you paid for. But then again, you could get lucky.
Sounds like you're gonna go on a wire frenzy! That's not a bad price at all! What guage is it?

Sounds like you're gonna go on a wire frenzy! That's not a bad price at all! What guage is it? That wrap that I did & the last batch that I posted, are from the $2.50 - $3.50/lb guy - the rock is amazing they've got a whole lot of good stuff - I got a big chunk of mex lace - busted that up and got chunks that look wrapable- thanks to SirRoxAlot for suggesting that site! Thank you kind Sir! The wire price is for 22 gauge - I'm still asking questions but I want to wrap those rocks that I polished, but I just need "big people wire" - the site is a little complicated, they sell wire by the KG but also sell smaller quantities too - finding out if they have a minimum order - shipping should be pretty good too - 30 meters of wire is less than 2 pounds! I'll PM you when I get news - I'll also resend the $2.50/lb guy to you!

No need to resend they guy's e-mail address. I still have it. I wasn't sure if it was the same guy or not.
If there's a minimum order, let me know and I'll go halfer's with you if you find it's too much.

Thanks Chassroc I threw some of them into the barrel already along with some mexican lace and fossil agate.
Something tells me that I'm going to have red slurry.

Tweetie, Thanks for the PM. You weren't kidding when you said their site was complicated! Even their catalogue is just as confusing.
I'm a little confused when it comes to pricing myself. Why can't they just say " spool of 22 Gauge - 30 Yards - Stirling Silver is $XX.00" or "Stirling silver Wire - 22gauge - $X.00 per foot"
Would be so much easier that way. I'm sure their customer service people are Boo-ing and Baah-ing over all the phone calls they get because of their price list.

I just wrote them for info - it's not bad once you get the gist of how to calculate - my problem was figuring out what gauge is how many mms. You can figure how many meters you get for a certain price once you find the type of wire you want, add to cart & then type in either the weight or the length and it gives you the price. Took me about 2 emails to understand the quote she sent me - I had asked for the price for 0.5kg and it came to $205.00 but that was for something like 300 meters - then I converted that to 0.03kg which is about 10 meters. I guess it seems okay price-wise and they only have gold wire, not gold plated.

Kim, I'd be really interested in seeing what they look like slabbed (all I've ever seen was KD's cab posted on your site). Please post some pictures up if you can.

Hi Alice Your Rosetta Stone is just beautiful! I've been looking for some since you posted your pic. Your right, it is very hard to find. The only stone I found was pretty slabs on ebay. I checked out the site you spoke about and wow! Their prices are good and they do have alot of rough stone to choose from. I like the fact that our $$$ go farther there as well! I placed an order of several different stones. How long did it take before your order arrived? Thanks for the info too!

Thanks Debra my package was supposed to arrive 5 - 10 days after I ordered. But all the postal workers were on vacation and our substitute mail man delivered it to the wrong address.... the people held on to it for a while... so I got it 28 days after I ordered. I have no idea how long the people held on to it.
You are going to be pleased with your order! I ceratainly am very pleased with mine.
show us pictures when you get everything

I'm pleased with their service already. I had checked my email and they had already replyed to my order. That's a very fast response time compared to some businesses I have dealt with! Looking forward to getting them!!! Thanks again for the helpful info and posting those beautiful photo! The one with the druzzy I would keep as is.

Debra they will more then likely give you a phone call tomorrow as well, to confirm your order and to tell you things like "you can't tumble this with that, etc..."
Great customer service!
