Been working on this on & Off for a couple of months........It's a piece of Granite material collected at Opal Mtn. I had rotary tumbled with a batch left behinds over a year ago. It came out of the rough cycles looking somewhat heart shaped, so after stumbling across it a few months back, started hand shaping it with the bench diamond disc's and a Dremel.......It polished up real nice in the vibe, but it's a little plump since the flatter I tried to make it, more fractures kept popping up. Rather than fight the fractures, I stopped shaping once it got nice and smooth all around.......since I don't own any type of cabbing wheel equipment, it was certainly a challenge......makes me appreciate even more what members here accomplish without the use of actual cabbing machines.......you know who you are.....LOL

I really like the colors in that one. That blood red sure pops. I avoid the granite on our Michigan beaches but I would certainly pick that one up.

I like it. It’s a full heart, not flat. Like the deep red. Great job on granite!

Love that! Where’s Opal Mountsin? It's in the Mojave Desert, about 15 miles west of Barstow, California off Hwy 58........and another rugged 5.5 miles of trails north.
