as far as the lighter and darker green. Epidote is the lighter and larger green. the smaller and darker could be larger crystals of epidote or possibly an Iron silicate like glauconite

Found a cool cousin of the first rock in the original post in my landscape rocks. You might want to cut and polish a window on that to see if the green pockets have iridescence/acicular structure. I've seen small chlorastrolite ("Isle Royale Greenstone") inclusions with pink thomsonite, datolite, etc. from such amygdaloidal basalt pieces from the UP - not sure if it can occur elsewhere in the state.

I will do that, is a window better than cutting it in half? Is the pink one of those two things? Thanks

Nice finds. I have pieces of amygdaloidal basalt with pink, green and a combo of both.

I will do that, is a window better than cutting it in half? Is the pink one of those two things? If this will just be a specimen, then a window would work better IMO (would make a flat place to use as a base). Cut it anyway you wish if you are thinking of cabbing, though. The pink could be thomsonite (which is what I've seen), datolite or some other mineral. There are also possibilities other than chlorastrolite for the green (including, but not limited to datolite and thomsonite) - which is why I'd want to cut and sand/polish a surface to better examine the structure details under a loupe or other magnification.

The thomsonite from the UP is usually Prehnite. Easy to confuse the two. I might even likethe Prehnite better than the Thomsonite.

Do you have a black light I have seen stones like #5 fluoresce really nicely sometimes even with a mixture of colors
