Likely done before but this one is driven by impatience and curiosity. Impatience because I have partial loads of glass and rocks done rotary stage one awaiting UV10 vibe time and curiosity to see how the glass will survive and finish mixed in with rocks. First photo is the vibe with aquarium quartz pea gravel I use for media/cushioning ... second photo is the glass and rocks to be tumbled in the vibe 220, pre-polish, and polish stages. Final mix ratio will be 50 % media, 38% rocks, and 12 % glass. I'll consider this a success if the green glass doesn't break as it is real thin (1.4 mm)...it survived previous all glass batches so we'll see how it does with some bigger rocks( many 1-2") in the mix. The vibe will be more full than I've had in previous batches...total weight of media/glass/rocks is 4.8 Kg (10.5 lbs). I will be slowing down the vibe action as I've done in previous glass batches with 6 TBSPs Borax in each of the stages. I'll do 2 days 220, 3 days pre-polish,and 3 days polish so final results will be a week and some from now... IMG_5166 by braat33, on Flickr IMG_5165 by braat33, on Flickr

The mixed glass and rocks batch finished today and I'm calling it a success. The only glass casualties are the 3 greens and one clear pieces in the center area. If you click on the photo you can zoom in a bit and see the damage. The greens were the thinnest of all the glass at about 1 1/4 MM so I was half expecting them all to be damaged but only about half of them suffered. The rest of the glass (bottom left) came out as good as previous all glass batches. Top left are West Coast/Haida Gwaii agates and other agates I forget what they are (threw out the bag label), top middle black rocks are local...basalt?...they sure shine up nice. Top right is mookaite and polychrome jasper, middle right is local petwood, bottom right and bottom middle is local stuff and center area banded rocks are local as well. This test proved to me I can tumble glass and rocks together and that I won't have to wait as long to fill up the vibe for the next batch Feb mixed glass rocks batch by braat33, on Flickr
