Here’s a couple cut nodules I picked up in a collection last week. Does anyone recognize where they may be from? First is red with some sorta metalic (hematite?). Here’s the rough side. Almost looks like Brenda but I don't think it is Second nice yellow plumes. The white spots are paint overspray Rough windowed side Anybuddy know? Sabre52 ? Thanks!

beefjello The first rock looks a lot (pattern wise) like stromatolite at least below the holes on the first image. If the area on the northeast edge (at 2 O'clock) have hematite (red streak) in it? If so then I would go with Stromatolite. The second image looks like an image I found on line called Death Valley Plume. Your pattern of plume is much larger. these are both very beautiful.

I agree on stromatolite on the first.

Top example is psilomelane plume from Mexico. Metallic stuff polishes out to a nice silver color. Rare stuff and a nice find. Other plume looks to be Sonora Plume but that stuff is so variable could be something else too......Mel

Yeah the rind on the second looks like something that could have traveled down the Rio Grande. Pretty whatever it is. Thanks everyone!!
