Proboards tech people are hackers Screwing up the forum I don't know if I would go that far *but* there is some well deserved conversation occurring on pages 5 and 6 of that support thread asking why forum Admins were not notified of this change and the potential ramifications before it occurred. They sent a mass PM about the privacy policy changing - they could have done the same with this major change I can fix the header banner - starting today I've got some long days on my job ahead but I'll try to get it done as soon as possible. Big picture I'm very concerned about our photo hosts Rockshow and Cloudinary. I need to study it further but unless those can be made to operate on HTTPS they both might be ... finito ... kuput.

I need to study it further but unless those can be made to operate on HTTPS they both might be ... finito ... kuput. OH CRAP!!!!! I sure hope not! But wait! Am I the only one able to see Walt's and Duke's photos? Both seem to be using RockShow. There are others that I just see the busted link on their posts. Sometimes, I can click on it and get the URL, other times, it cannot even be selected, like it's not even there. Can anyone else besides me see the photos? On my phone, the URL for the forum starts with https://, and not http. Interesting. The good news for now is I think all the photos are still there, and the links work. The problem lies in each individual's receiving computer, phone, laptop, etc. I think it will resolve. Don't do anything rash, and start messing with things on your own posts/links. Just give it some time. What knave said, there are a lot of other sites also having problems. Websites and programs all updating at the same time.

I'm no computer genious, but I think if you add the "s" to the http:// the problem may go away.
If you use a bookmark, and I'm sure most do, you'll just have to edit it.
They may be farther along with the security upgrade than anyone knows.

They may be farther along with the security upgrade than anyone knows. The question is when the security updates are finished and everyone is on https will The Forum allow photos from cloudinary and rock show to be viewed or will it consider them unsafe because they're not originating on https. I completely agree with you though... everyone remain calm and let's let this work through for a couple of days that also gives me a chance to study it and the troubles that other people are having.

Don't do anything rash, and start messing with things on your own posts/links. Just give it some time. Totally agree. They've messed something up in an update, and we get to experience the joy of them trying to figure out what is wrong. Over the past couple of weeks (using MS Edge), I've only had a few times where images and banners haven't appeared, but other weird behaviors have come, gone, come back, and vanished again (e.g., the "Like" and "Post" buttons not working, the option for uploading to Cloudinary not appearing when creating a post, etc.). Non-https content is a browser issue and shouldn't be related to Proboards (unless they are trying something really weird, like blocking access to non-https content) and would only trigger a warning or lack of the lock icon in browsers.

I just fired up my desktop computer, and my bookmark was to http. Edited it to add the "s", then get a warning saying the site is not safe.
I think the security on my desktop (Kaspersky) is more protecting than what my Android phone uses.
Since I can see photos uploaded via http sites now on my phone without problems, I am hopeful Proboards will allow them to be acceptable for the site when it is https.
Time will tell. I know it is frustrating as hell, but as rock tumblers, we are a patient bunch.

It's odd that rockshow images aren't displaying, while cloudinary images are. Image info for both show http - not https - when right-clicking on them in the threads.
One thing I noticed is the i.php subdirectory in the rockshow path. Whatever the problem is, it looks like it's just in the rockshow config. If it's just that they don't have valid certificates or whatever, I hope they fix it.

No one ever said if they can see Walt's and Duke's photos. Anybody???
On my desktop computer, I added the "s" to the front of the URL, edited the bookmark. I was still getting warnings about it not being a secure site. Then I received an email notification about a like, and clicked the topic, taking me directly to the post on RTH. No security warnings!!!
So once on the landing page, I created another bookmark for RTH, and deleted the old one. Looks exactly the same to me, have not idea why the one works and the other one doesn't. (Oops, found the problem, I added a period after the .com. Glad I figured that out, it was bugging me, lol.)
For the record, the working URL is forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/ Danged if that didn't fix the warning issue! Still on the desktop (Windows 7, still using out of date Internet Explorer 11).
I can see this photo
in the post by TheRock yesterday, here's the link to post
Also can see this photo
posted by Walt manofglass on November 25,2019 on this page link
So both of these photos were uploaded to RockShow, both currently show with no problems on both of my devices.
I am optimistic that this problem will be fixed soon. It may already be!

So, I guess the answer is no. To keep from having to upload a screen shot of the posts, I just nabbed the URL of the existing photos. Of course it didn't work, doh. Well, I can see them in my post. Okay, I'll do screenshots of Walt's an Bob's last posts with photos, and upload to Cloudinary. Not for a few hours, though.

Bob's last photo posted, taken in Q. Walt's last photo posted of PVC tumbler Now, do you believe that I can see them? LOL. Will start downloading photos in Zoran's tut. The photos may all be viewable in a day or so anyway, but I can see them now, so I'll grab them now. Would be a shame to lose this awesome tut.

I can see everything, but have not done the Chrome update. Found put I would need to upgrade other software on my computer. Some of those upgrades would cost $100.00 + each. Having extended loading times for all posts here. I am using the link to forum that Jean posted above, the old one. Using a 2016 lap top with current software.
Sometimes the avitars of members show up as broken links.

Are my photo links broken as well? Can't look right now at work. Should I be backing them up somewhere just in case?

Are my photo links broken as well? Can't look right now at work. Should I be backing them up somewhere just in case? Here is a post I found that I can’t see the picture. I got this from J2B2 at their final liquidation of the 50 cent bins. From the outside it looked like it might be the Burro Creek pastelite, but cutting it open tells me it's something else entirely. Pic is in one of my 24 inch saws, probably was close to 50 lbs when I put it in. It's equal in hardness to the noreena I'm cutting next saw over, Laguna lace scratches it easily. Haven't tried to see how it polishes yet.

Again, don't anybody panic, I think this problem is temporary, and will get fixed soon. I know Probards is still trying to resolve it, saw some strange formatting going on this morning.
