![](http://res.cloudinary.com/knave/image/upload/v1582736479/RTH/dhd67sqroeddxh9mlbgk.jpg) I see this as a payment option more and more. What’s the deal? Any advantages over PayPal?

I've used Venmo. I'm not sure there are any advantages/disadvantages between it and PayPal. Pretty much the same.

Husband and I use Venmo to send each other money. Venmo feels a lot more... "friends" or social based. It's very quick, easy, and at least I haven't ever seen a fee for transferring money from bank account to bank account. This makes it perfect to send your friend that $15 for lunch or whatever. You can easily put in what you're sending money for (it suggests emojis for you), and if you want, the payment can go to your and your friends' "feed" and other friends can like it. You can also turn that off so just you + the recipient see the message. You can typically get funds you withdrew a bit faster from Venmo, although PayPal has a significantly higher transfer limit. Venmo also doesn't have any difference, AFAIK, between an individual and a merchant.
IMO: Venmo = small daily transactions between friends, buskers, etc. PayPal = business transactions or large transactions

Just bought a bunch of artworks for a friend, from an acquaintance overseas. Did a wire transfer at the bank, because it was way cheaper than PayPal.
