Heres another batch out of polish... My first shot at Jasper. Not quite the shine as the last few batches.. I new right away, as the water was drying off you could see a slight difference between the "wet" and "dry" look. Found 2 stones with pitting that I had missed somehow.. prob what caused it. Thanks for looking! Jimmy

I think it looks pretty darn good Jimmy but I know what you mean about how it looks to you. That stuff is really pretty, where did you get it. I love all the pastel colors in there. Looks like a few pieces of agate too eh? The 2nd pic, next to the pink one looks like it's got some nice banding in it. I just really like the colors of it.

I guess your standards really are rising if you think those are not up to par. I think they look great. Foe a mixed batch your percentage is way up there. Of course there will always be those subborn few that ruin it for the rest, but over all that is an A-1 batch of stones.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!! They do look nice. Guess I just got spoiled with that botswana/brazilian agate batch... with those you really can't tell if they are wet or dry! ;D Here's a pic of these while they were still wet. As for the mix, it was sent from the 'Shed as "Fancy Jasper".. not sure it that means it is a mix of assorted jasper or if it is what it is.. Fancy Jasper, lol.. and it looks as if a lone agate was mixed in the rocks before they were sent.. I just left it there. There are a couple of pieces that you can see through that have green moss/plume type look to them. Thought I took a pic of them but guess not... will try and take a pic if the sun every comes out today.. Thanks again, Jimmy

Hi JC, I used Tin Oxide on these.
Recipe:
60/90 = forever, lol (5-7 weeks) 120/220 = 8 days 500 = 8 days 1000 = 11 days Polish = 8 days

There isn't much detectable difference between wet and dry. You have just raised the bar too high on yourself so now you are too picky That is a great batch!
