This a piece of stinking water golden oak, thinking about cutting it. How would you all do it? I'm thinking of making a standup out of it.

I just cut my very first petrified wood last night, found it myself. I can't give any advice on the cut, but that looks to be a dang nice piece!

I would probably slice off what is showing in the picture as the top and then flip it

They have ruined many a cabochon. Mine looks more like pet bark. Split around the rings. It won't be good for anything but a tumble
