I have some P95's that the pre-filters are full of fiberglass and primer/paint dust. Still work as designed and nobody would give me any sh!t for keeping them for myself. I bought them for doing gelcoat and polyurethane on my boat which requires a mask that will filter organic vapors. Mine are far from this clean: Whadya do, just rinse the beard?

I was covered in my work from head to toe but none of it got into my lungs. lol

Now, if you want to eat meat in the future (unless you are a hunter), go to the store and buy now. I will be OK. I can go shoot something. If you want cellophane wrapped, white styrofoam bottom meats, I suggest that you get it immediately, as it will be more expensive or not available very soon. The big US packers are closing down for 2 weeks (min). Greig

This is interesting. Gasoline at the town about 9 miles from me is $1.30/gallon. Gas at another small town,30 miles away is now $.72/gallon. That is a huge difference for such a short distance. I also find it interesting that the lower priced gas is from Kwik Trip. NDK traveled to this station a few weeks ago. The Kwik Trip closest to me is at $1.26.

On meat availability...
Please support any local farms/meat markets. I am guessing many do not have access to these, but am sure some do. Availability of meat will vary across the world in the near future. This is due to processing plants shutting down.
Some food pantries in WI have an abundance of perishable and other items. Several recently said anyone (including those who were not registered with them) could come and have food put in their vehicle. The food included breads, meats, cheeses, milk, canned/boxed goods and some treats.
A friend, who works in a hospital and has 3 small children, decided to go, She received two, standard size totes of food placed in the back of her car. The canned/boxed goods were OK, as was the 3 lbs of cheese. All of the meats were bad. The hot dogs were frozen, green. The hamburger and chicken was also bad. Two gallons of milk were sour and had clumps in them. The fresh veggies were also something she could not serve her family. Most were rotten, dried out, moldy or wilted.
She was very disappointed.
Some areas have an abundance of food and others have a limited supply.

Thanks for the heads up I will go shopping tomorrow So I did go shopping on Friday the 17th after getting the heads up of processing plants closing I need to go anyway. Later in the day I herd on the radio news at noon they were talking about this issue and the reasons they were. The main reason was workers were infected at one of the biggest plants and just so happens to be owned by China and you guessed it there were Chinese workers working at these plants but you/ I can find that piece about the infected workers online. fernwood maybe some good unseen force was looking out for your friend. That’s something that I have not herd yet can the virus infect the food we eat? www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/04/16/meat-processing-plants-are-closing-due-covid-19-outbreaks-beef-shortfalls-may-follow/

dreamrocks I have seen some reports it can and some it cannot. I will be purchasing some meat/cheese from the farm 5 minutes from my place on Monday. They are a family business that has pigs, goats, chickens and cattle. They are well know locally for quality. I am trying to be so safe right now.

Buying locally makes great sense and typically the food is better. If there is continued availability, prices may likely go higher. On the plus side, if you are shopping for a new car/truck, there is a glut of product and price and incentive wars are starting already.

Having lived in a remote area in ND for over 30 + years, we always stocked up on goods, so no worries there! always have extra propane for heat, grilling and etc.. Dry goods, can goods and etc, no worries. As for fresh meat no worries, we fish and if push came to shove I will supply fresh meat for my family, I hunt and butcher too...

I filled up yesterday here in my part of California at a station that's usually lowest cost. Price: $3.06/gal. That's down from the $3.50-$3.75 price a couple of weeks ago.

Plenty of cheap gas and I can't go anywhere. "NEW YORK: Of all the wild, unprecedented swings in financial markets since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, none has been more jaw-dropping than Monday’s collapse in a key segment of U.S. oil trading. The price on the futures contract for West Texas crude that is due to expire Tuesday fell into negative territory -- minus $37.63 a barrel. That’s right, sellers were actually paying buyers to take the stuff off their hands. The reason: with the pandemic bringing the economy to a standstill, there is so much unused oil sloshing around that American energy companies have run out of room to store it. And if there’s no place to put the oil, no one wants a crude contract that is about to come due." economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/commodities/news/crude-oil-prices-fall-as-stocks-fill-earnings-set-to-shrink/articleshow/75250153.cms

No shortage of kosher dill pickles either. Bought a bushel of Florida pickling cucumbers at the SC State Farmers Market last Saturday and put up 24 quarts + 8 pints. I use the store bought dill pickle mix and add plenty of extra fresh garlic cloves and dill. Will hold me down for two years. Give them away at Christmas, etc. Kept some of the larger cucumbers to slice and serve with vinegar and oil, salt and pepper.
