Caught my daily limit of fish by 10am so had time to play with some rocks. Got these 3 pretty much ready for the lot o. Reyes Agate -love the colors in this one. didnt dome it bc it was thin piece to start with and really didnt want to risk losing any of the colors so just beveled the edge. Red green blanket-not sure about this material. It's quite soft and the colors are much lighter when dry than when wet, as pictured. Got to find out best way to polish it. Desperado Agate- meh...looked better before I domed it. Slab was extra thick and made high dome which altered the pattern more than I wanted to. Next piece will try much lower dome and see how it goes. That's all for now. Thanks for looking. Any advice, input always appreciated!

Beautiful! The red green blanket won't polish. I do like it, though. If you get a piece with hematite, be very careful- it will undercut like crazy.

Had a suspicion that would be the case as far as polishing goes. And will keep eye out for any hematite in rest of slab.

Nice stones! That Desperado is gorgeous.
On Zippy's Ebay store on his Red/Green Blanket auctions he said that understands that Aluminum Oxide works very well and also hitting dry on the 3000 wheels works, too.
Haven't tried it yet, so don't know how well it works.

The red/green is pretty cool Yeah I really like the colors in the slab but doesnt look at all the same when dry and apparently doesnt polish well. Maybe if I make one from the slab that daughter likes enough to wear as pendant then il try coating it to keep color vibrant
