I had this piece made by a member here. A Christmas ornament. The cut out allows for a photo to be attached. Now need to select and attach a bail to it. Am thinking this is the correct type of bail, as it would allow for an ornament hanger. The ornament has a triple coating of high gloss finish applied. My thoughts are to sand off some of the finish on each side of top of tree. Then use Hypo cement to attach. One leaf on each side at the top of the tree. Do you think this will work? I am planning on giving the ornament to my daughter for her Birthday on Sunday. Thanks.

That should work just fine. Epoxy would make a stronger bond if you have some. You might also take a sharp scriber or a sharpened nail and rough up the inside of the leaves.

Here is the final product. The Hypo stands firm. My biggest concern is how my daughter will react when I give her this tomorrow as part of her Birthday present. She often does not appreciate my lapidary obsession. Her husband is a co-conspirator of my love of rocks and transforming them. Wish me well on this present.

Wish you well, Beth. Too bad it wasn’t hanging in the tree 3 months ago but such is life.

Such a great idea! I love the stone choice.
