I saw some really nice Canadian (British Columbia) Pinolith on another thread and being a big fan of the Austrian stuff, I just had to try some. I don't ordinarily beg for rocks, but I don't have a big saw, so purchasing a lot of big rough wouldn't do me much good. I asked for a small sample for a cabber and they graciously sent me a nice chunk faced on three sides. The orientation is a no brainer and I expect it will trim up some nice little slabs- more than I was asking for. These guys were really great! When the time comes for me to set up a bigger saw, I'm going straight to them at the mine. pinolite.ca/ I'll be posting cabs as I get them finished.
This is the short side. the pattern should go through pretty deep.
This face is ho hum, but there is enough on the other orientation to get some nice cabs.
Lots of the golden yellow. I am seeing this referred to Golden Pinolith in quite a few places.
I have cabbed a lot of the Austrian Pinolith. Most of it cabbed up well, but I have hit some crumbly ones. This piece looks pretty good. The Austrian polishes up extremely well. Hoping for the same for this.

I'm looking forward to seeing a cab out of it, too. Be interesting to hear how it compares to cabbing the Austrian Pinolith.
