i wasn't able to quite finish this attempt at chain-making at my last class, so i finished it at home and cobbled up an old CE unit to run again for tumbling silver. you actually use stainless steel "shot" and some special burnishing powder for metal and water. this is called a single flower chain and it doesn't require soldering. it DOES require a fair amount of patience however! it starts out as 16 ga. wire and you hand roll the tubes on a jig and chuck and then saw them into jump rings..one might ask WHY BOTHER? but anyway, here is it: and a close up: although tedious it's also a bit theraputic, i may try some in a thinner wire one day. thanks for looking! I like it! I've seen some of those where you make all them jump rings, I can't imagine doing that! That's a perfect one for a charm bracelet, now you can take some of those little stones that aren't big enough for anything else, drill them and put them on there. A rock charm bracelet, now that would be neat! You did a great job KD, congrats!

I saw something similar in "Bead & Button" magazine it was called a Tryzantine bracelet or something like that but you used Jump rings instead
Lotsa patience I bet went into that - looking good!

Why bother? Because YOU can, that's why. I say again, how can we know what goes into a piece like this and see it sold for pitance? I know, I know... It just ain't right!

very nice kd - that does look time consuming. but you can say you made it yourself and that makes it so special.

You did a great job on that, I do alot of chainmail, and make jewelry similar to that. If you want to learn to do more go to this website, this is where I learned to make different types of chains. derakon.chainmailstore.com/inst.htmlTami
