dang, you didn't warn me i'd need a bib!
those are gorgeous hunks of rainbow obsidian! have you cabbed any of that in the past, Sands? i know tumbling some of it can be tricky.
i'm open for trade for the necklace, a few small slabs of that would work just fine.

Wow, KD, that's gorgeeous! I love the cut of the stone, more like a star than chevron. And the color and shine, outstanding! I wish my camera had better resolution. That last batch of amethyst came out glassy like that and I can't show it! And the rainbow obsidian is breathtaking. Bet that will polish great on the genie! My, but I'm full of !!!!!'s tonight!
cookie P.S. What are the beads made of?

hey, Cookie, those purple ones are the amazingly cheap-o glass Checzh (sp?) glass numbers on sale at Fire Mountain. the white ones are "mountain" jade (another false stone) and the silver accents are plain sterling beads.
but the pendant is hand cut and hand drilled and tumbled by yours truly..

That is a beautiful piece of amethyst. I love how the light striations go to the center of the piece. Tami

Wow that is a nice stone and necklace.
How is the stone fixed on? Is it drilled or glued?

That is really pretty. I love amethyst. I have some tumbling right now but it is my first attempt so hopefully I wont mess it up. I got it off of ebay so not sure how it will turn out.
Do you have a favorite place to buy your amethyst from?

thanks for the positive comments!
Rose, it is drilled then i glue a threaded eye post in the hold with epoxy 330.
tkw, i bought this from Kingsley North and was not happy with most of it at first. but i sliced up a few pieces and some of them really turned out quite nicely.
