I just peeked at my pet wood from Tom (home grown ) thats been in 60/90 for about three weeks. It's looking sooo pretty. This is what it looks like wet And the amethyst earrings I was wearing in the necklace pic I just can't get over how ALIVE the pet rock looks. Think it needs a couple more weeks of shaping, tho. cookie

Great wood. I think it needs more than a couple of weeks to get some of those deeper slices out. Thanks for sharing though, those are gonna be good ones. You've already got some unique looking dudes in the pile.
And, yes, the earrings looks great. Find a suitable place to sell the stuff yet?
later, gaeter

Hey Pho~ I'd love some petrified wood. How can you take payment - can I mail you the dough and you send me the goods? Can I get about 5-7 pounds? Do you send through the mail? Let me know and I'll IM my info. Thanks! Rhonda

This batch is in Big Red (Thumblers model B) and there was exactly 10 lbs. of it. I used the chisel end of my new rock hammer, and the pieces cleaved off so evenly. I was all caught up in the moment when WHAM! I hit my thumb. Cut that puppie wide open. It has only recently healed. So you know what I did? Put on a bandaid and a rubber glove and kept whacking. That's what a rock hound does, work through the pain. Gaetz, I like for the pet wood to really look like wood, so I pull it out before it's completely smooth. Still looking for the ellusive place where my stuff will sell. But practicing sure is fun.

Cookie- That is exactly what a rock hound does! Sorry about the thumb- No Pain NO Gain! I have sliced, smashed, bruised, lacerated, broken, and just about every other possible injury (except cut off) all my fingers at one point or another and the dang things just heal up and are ready for more- I guess God gave us 10 fingers so we could always have a spare?

The best way to start- is to just jump in- If you are chicken and avoid it- well it will never get done-
