Nice. What are you using to cut the groove? I procured an older Inland Wiz glass grinder/router on ebay for $63 and attached a small container lid to the deck for a depth guide. The guide doesn't make it a foolproof groove, but it does give me an idea of when I'm getting close to the right depth.
Thanks for all the nice comments

That rag with the Montana is super classy. Great job man. Mechanics don't need TP, paper towels, towels, dish cloths, anti-scratch work surfaces, or even napkins! We've got rags! (I'm sure I left out other uses besides mops)

I was wondering if you were using a glass grinder or not. Have fun with it.

if you have a 3D printer, or lathe, you can make a bushing that sits on top of the cutter to give you the proper depth... 2c.

Excellent work, sir! Personally, have always liked the clean, simplistic look achieved with groove wraps. And not sure I have the eye for wire wrapping so have wanted to learn how to do groove wraps for a while. Doubt I would be able to master it in 2 tries like you have tho. Great job!
